Admission Requirents

To be admitted in Year 1 The candidate should have the Secondary school certificate issued by National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) or Equivalent with at least two principal passes required by High Education Council (HEC).
The following documents should be provided:

1. Notarized Certificate of secondary education/Equivalence
2. Copy of National ID /Passport
3. CV
4. 2 Passport photos
5. Proof of Payment of registration fee
Note: 1st installment of tuition fee should be paid on the date of registration. For finance issues contact the Head of Recovery and Procurement Unit

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR MASTERS

A. MA Program Minimum Requirements

A candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to an MA program of the University if the candidate has obtained: 1. Notarized degree in any other field.
2. Advanced diploma in Theology or equivalent in any other field.
3. Applicants must also demonstrate sufficient competence in English to study at Higher Education level.
4. Applicant in theology program should submit a recommendation letter from the Senior Pastor, Mentor and Professor (academic).
5. Copy of the National ID or Passport.
6. The applicant should upload a bank sleep of non-refundable payment for application to an MA degree program paid on RTU account Bank of Kigali.

B. The Mature Age/Special Entry

  • Candidates for the Mature Age/Special Entry Scheme must be at least 25 years and have had formal education with notified school reports/transcripts of the last three years of secondary education (A-level) or any other equivalent documents. Those who are successful, in both the written and the oral examination are then considered for admission
  • C. Admission Process

    Candidates will be selected on a comprehensive evaluation i.e., Academic performance, character, faith, experience, sports etc. Individual applicant’s file is reviewed for completeness:
  • Short listed applicants are forwarded to the university Admissions Committee. Each program is given appropriate weight to the factors pertinent to its nature.
  • The university Admissions Committee grants or denies admission and forwards decision to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs office.
  • Short listed applicants may be invited for an interview as determined by the faculty.
  • Short listed applicants may be given an entry level test in oral or written form
